Dominos Delivery Pizza Orders

Everybody loves pizza. And a great place to find one is Domino’s. Well, Domino’s is a really prominent pizza chain. It is actually the second largest in the United States. Its menu typically consists of oven baked sandwiches, boneless chickens, chicken wings, pasta dishes, breadsticks, desserts, and of course – pizzas! The History of Domino’s is amazing, as well. This pizza chain was founded in the 1960’s by a guy named Tom Monaghan. What started as a small pizzeria turned out to be one of the largest pizza chains in the world. In the United States alone, there are about nine thousand franchises. And there are more in other countries. So today, any person can order and have a Dominos delivery pizza in a snap.

Pizza Delivery from Dominos PizzaHowever, in spite of its huge success, Domino’s have still experienced being in hot waters. In 1975, it faced its first lawsuit. Amstar Co., maker of the pizza chain’s sugar, charged Domino’s Pizza unfair competition and trademark infraction. But in 1980, Domino’s had won the case. Then, in 1973, the pizza chain announced its new advertisement campaign which focused on delivering pizza orders within a specific time frame. At first, the campaign seemed like a great idea. If the pizza orders were not delivered within thirty minutes, they will be free of charge. But in the 1980’s, Domino’s replaced this free pizza offer with a $3 discount offer. This was due to the increased rates of traffic violations by the Dominos delivery pizza drivers who hurry to be on time.

And in 1992, a mishap happened. The family of a young Indiana woman filed a case against Domino’s Pizza. Apparently, this woman was killed by one of the pizza chain’s delivery drivers. So, Domino’s settled the lawsuit by paying a total of US $2.8 million to the family. Then, in 1993, another case was filed against the huge pizza chain. A woman was seriously injured when a rushing Dominos delivery pizza driver hit her car. So, Domino’s once again settled the lawsuit by paying the woman almost US $80 million. Moreover, the thirty minute guarantee was finally discontinued that same year. The lawsuits have ostensibly affected the perceptions of customers towards Domino’s Pizza.

However, by the end of 2007, the pizza chain started to offer its thirty minute delivery again. But this time, thirty minutes is just an estimated time frame. So, there is no guarantee that the pizza orders will be delivered exactly within thirty minutes. Nevertheless, Domino’s pizzas are still considered to be among the best pizzas in the world. In fact, more and more gimmicks have been developed to promote better customer service. Domino’s pizzas are not only being delivered in homes and office buildings. But they are also being delivered in beaches and parks, as long as their proximity are all right.
